Emily's mother reports that she neighed in her sleep at the age of two. At four, she snuck out of the family's Estes Park cabin to sleep with nearby horses, and from there it was weekly lessons and horse camp in the summers. She's competed in the jumper, eventing and dressage arenas, and now makes her living mostly as an equestrian (and business--hey, it pays the bills) journalist. She has Scot, her husband, two dogs, three cats, two goats, and three horses at home: Volare, her retired, one-eared, tongue-hanging eventer, Baleno, the jumper that doesn't jump, and Belle, a red-head with attitude who's job is yet to be determined.
